NFT creation is a choice than a reason. Why NFT ? Is it enough to keep us creating?
There are infinite possibilities to create as a creator. The creator creates digital creations, such as photos, art, music, literature, videos, and memes. Its two paths for creation are ‘for someone’ or ‘for the world.’
The first path is for someone. It has been known and done for years, where the creator gets commissioned for their work.
The second path is for the world. The work can be published for all to see online. With the advent of NFT, there is a technical possibility for it to be sold, it would open whole new possibilities where it had not been before. However, it is new, and people lack the understanding, but there is a possibility for a monetary return. It brings us to the dilemma of the ‘creator’ because of the risks involved in the two paths.
The value of the creation will depend on the beholder. There are two types of the beholder: one that values your work in the long term, and the other passes by and loves your work. The beholder for the first path will be those that pass by, where the work of the creator is sold to one person alone.
The beholder of the second path is the public, where everyone can pass by and invest in it. These people may not be fans, but they may simply want to invest, and it is a much higher payoff than to sell to one person.
NFTs are for others, but the value doesn’t diminish when divided. Whenever something good happens or something you like, there is a tendency to show others, and sharing it gives us more happiness. For example, your favorite mug. If you duplicate your mug multiple times, would you like it less? Not really. It is because, in the end, all of the mugs is the original mug. I would be glad to have multiple ones, and I could share them with others.
There may still be fear to choose the second path, as it has not been done before. However, you can always choose not to. There is still a risk that NFT creation won’t be a success. It might even take years, and you can do everything you can from all the technicals, sometimes to no avail.
So why bother? I say why not!
It is the creator’s choice to do so. Any cause would have a good reason, but what makes it effective is the choice of those around its cause to push through it. We have to remember we only have one life, whether we pick path one or path two.
The journey of creating is a decision to do with our own lives to live a life with no regrets and satisfaction.
